York’s muted chocolatey scarlet to raspberry coloring is unique among dahlias. The blooms’ ombré pattern goes from very chocolatey dark red centers, towards a lighter pink at the tips of the petals. Many of the blooms appear to have a large dark rusty-red brush-stroke all the way down the middle, lending further depth to this flower. The buds appear to be a deepened coral in some blooms. Altogether a dramatic show.
